Brass is widely used in plastic injection molding to provide rigidity to the plastic parts, most of the home appliances comes with fiber parts that have brass inserts molded into it to provide structural strength to the plastic part as well as to ease of assembly of threaded parts. Threading directly into plastic does not provide long-lasting efficiency, that is where brass insets with threads and knurling is applied to the part.
